HARTFORD The financial and daily operations of the Charter Oak Health Center have come under scrutiny by state public health officials, who subpoenaed the Hartford facility for financial and other records and have ordered operational changes by next week.
The state Department of Public Health’s actions follow reports and concerns about the management of an active case of tuberculosis at the center earlier this month specifically, conflicting statements about when the case was reported.
“As part of our regulatory role, we have issued a subpoena for records, and we have staff on site,” said William Gerrish, a spokesman for the health department.
